Part 3: A Guide to Leagues, Chat Rooms & Alliances
Leagues:
As your "trophy" count increases (the number listed on the top right hand corner is how this game ranks you), you can enter different "leagues." Depending on what league your in, you get bonus PvP loot every time you win a PvP battle! We'll learn more about PvP battles in the next part of the guide but for now here is the breakdown of the different leagues. New players start with 1000 trophies and are automatically in Silver League!
League Badges:
When you enter a new league, you are rewarded a league badge! In global and Alliance chat you will get an icon representing which league you're in. The icon in the middle of the badge corresponds to the ship faction you selected at the start of the game.
(A special Thanks to fellow SQUID Nitzayra who got us a picture of the bronze badge!)
When you see a big gold star in the middle, that means the player has VIP status!
VIP status:
VIP Status is rewarded to the top 100 players, very old accounts, people who reported major bugs, and people who originally helped fund the game (backers)! Being VIP lets regular players act as chat moderators. When 2-3 VIP player report a normal player for inappropriate behavior, they will become muted. (and possibly banned!) This allows the community to help moderate the chats. VIP players who abuse their powers are looked down on by the community and will have their privileges revoked.
Joining an Alliance
Alliances are teams of up to 100 players that are united under a "flag" and Name.. Alliances are created by a Founder for 100k Minerals.
How to Join: When your ship is lvl 4, you have the option to build an "Alliance Council" room. You can use this room to join an alliance by searching for it by name or start your own alliance (Think long and hard before you try to start one. There's plenty of good ones already and its very hard to gather members.) You can also join alliances in the top 100 list by browsing them. Please keep in mind the alliance room must stay on your ship for as long as your in an alliance, you'll need to quit before you can remove it.
Benefits of Joining:
- Alliances are a community, they usually can give you advise and help you develop into a better ship captain.
- You can post replays of your attack and defense battles! Watch fellow alliance members fight, and get advise about how your battles went!
- Larger Alliances sometimes have websites or use 3rd party chat apps to talk and post pictures and videos.
- Alliances members have the ability to share crew to one another! You can donate a crew member for 24 hours to the alliance by dragging them into the alliance room and sending them on a "expedition" And you can borrow crew by taping on your alliance room and selecting "request"
- Alliances that rank in the Top 25 win prize money that is shared with all their members!
Alliance Ranks:
Founder - Can change all settings and assign all ranks, including Founder rank
CoFounder - Can change all settings and assign the rank of Elder.
Elder - Can approve applicants into full members.
Member - Can talk in alliance chat and Borrow and share Crews
Applicant - The rank given to anyone who apply into an alliance. Cant see alliance chat untill membership is approved. But will have the alliance tag in global chat!
Crew Donation Counter:
Ever seen the up and down number next to peoples names in alliances?
As you know, crew have different gem levels. If you donate a 3gem crew to your alliance, you get an UP arrow 3, if you borrow a 5gem crew from your alliance you will get a DOWN arrow 5. The tally is reset every month, and it helps alliances know how active members are!
