Hello. I am CORSAIR of the SQUID WARFLEET. A little about myself. I am in the U.S. Navy, I've done a lot of crazy things, and not so crazy things. I'm married, have a beautiful wife and daughter, with another on the way. I have a reputation for being sharp, and have done well in either the Navy tournaments for Chess (winning in Kuwait vs people who stepped up in 2011), or tactics on the water in my patrol boats. I've done martial arts for two and a half decades on and off, with a heavy emphasis in a thinking man's martial art that the world seems to recognize as either gold or garbage, "Wing Chun." Let's just say as far as that goes, it takes a smart person and a dedicated one to make that martial art work, and as many of you are probably aware, not a lot of people are getting "smarter" these days. About this game, this is just a game, but it's a pretty good one. There are bugs, but they are for the most part overcome. There are exploitable things, but they are equally exploitable by everyone. It seems like pay to win, but people who pay to win often lose. The Devs listen to people, the problem is sometimes they listen to people who think they're good or who think they "know" when the cold reality is they probably don't and are just complaining because they don't have an "auto-win" button like most modern games these days. I'm 34 now, 35 in June, grew up in that old era of video games where "versus" matches were games like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo in the arcades, where to get "skill" you needed to play the game, spend money to do so, fight the best, learn from the best, see where you are weak (because you ARE weak), learn from this, and know your place. There is a time to learn what each button does, a time to learn the tricks of a given character you play, a time to learn the tactics of that character vs general stuff, then the time to learn strategy of your character vs the mirror match and THE REST OF THE CAST. Once you get there, you have your blackbelt, and must get the experience of having then mastered all the prerequisites. In other words, there are no free rides. No "auto-win" buttons, no way a noob can win a game vs an experienced or dedicated or committed player. You fail, you learn why you failed and move on. This game is crazy, because like Street Fighter 2 you will fail a lot. If you find yourself complaining because something seems OP or unfair, maybe take a lesson in Philosophy and realize maybe it's just you and not the game, or the other person. Maybe YOU are wrong, and the ship you are fighting IS beatable, you just need to recognize that it is. That said I am sure I have a lot of people out there that hate me or my ship for wrecking theirs many times. I can assure you, I get wrecked A LOT, and arguably in many EPIC fights. Contrary to popular belief, I do not always target turrets, I target THE BEST target that is available. Also, most of the time I fight a ship, I try not to manually target anything and let my A.I. handle the damage control. If your ship forces me to manually target anything, and micromanage my crew to keep the ship alive for the win, you have my respect by default--because you "get it."
