I thought I would post something about hero ability's in the new update and not just because its 4 am and I'm waiting on my shield to upgrade.
The new update brought all new ability's for our hero's. Some useful some not so much. I decided to break down the ability's into two parts. Offense and defense
First the ability of a hero unlocks at level 10. it is found in the top left in stats under there name and description. The level (or power of there ability is under the repair value. For things that affect characters/room hp the number is the amount of hp taken (poison/dismantle) or given (first aid/healing rain/urgent repair). For the ones that change load or
recharge times of rooms it is the time that the room is shortened. (think if my laser fired once every second when the ability pops it takes only .5 seconds for the next shot). There is one critical hack that simply resets the enemy room to restart its load for what ever.
Also there is a new AI script Command: (what ever you want) Action: Use Special Power. Also when a hero flashes tap on him to manually use power. Powers recharge over time and can be used more than once per battle
Offence:
(no offensive ability effect your own heroes)
Ultra Dismantle
I'm calling this one Nuked You. This ability causes the loss of HP to a room by the amount of the character ability score. (unsure if armor plays a role). It does not matter if there are enemy's in the room repair at the the time of use.
My Thoughts I like this ability, if you set an AI script to target a room on enemy ship they will teleport over and unless its a reactor/Hanger (only takes half off the life) it will be destroyed this can delay teleportation (if they have a repair) enough for missiles or for cannons to take down shield and hit room. as an added bonus even if the rooms full its destroyed and your hero just walks off undamaged and if your quick you can send him elsewhere before AI takes him back to the death trap of a 3 person repair team.
Poison Gas
I am calling this one Tear Gas in honor of the rob rob's tears of pain. This ability causes enemy's in a room to lose hp in the amount of the ability (haven't seen it one hit kill though). Does not effect your heroes.
My thoughts, useful for manual use. Though don't know how you would script for it. Maybe an AI on teleport that may waste it in an empty room. Or current hp < so in theory if your getting hit on enemy ship when you hit 50% you gas them. the on teleport (AI target enemy "Room" No condition use power right after) may work perfect if its a 3 man room you teleport into.) Any thoughts on how to use this one?
Critical Hack
I am calling this one not this time. This ability delays a rooms recharge forcing it to restart. Only works on recharging rooms (guns/missiles/hanger/shield/teleport) not on (Engines/reactors/bridge) Does not effect your rooms (you know if you accidentally use it)
My thoughts, umm hmm this is well useless. One if your in the room to reset it you will destroy it faster. Two if its got repair people its recharging faster anyway. 3. congrats you stopped on shot or one missile. Only use is a real quick stop of the enemy teleport (so if there a level lower than yours you teleport in and stop them in time for missiles to hit the room) or stopping the shield i guess. personally anyone got an idea.

I am calling this one, full room, no problem. Your attack, for one shot, is raised by the ability's amount. if the amount is over the enemy's hp well they die. This does not effect rooms for that you need dismantler.
My thoughts, well average hp for a hero is about 6-8 roughly or higher, so if the ability plus your normal attack means instant death it can be very useful to teleport them into a full room with a simple teleport ai command then use ability. of course you need to pick a full room and hope it isn't full of robrobs or rockys.
so that is offensive ill post defensive in a little bit. There was one in the beta post called aiming weakness but i can't find anyone who has that on a hero so it may have been taken out. If i missed an offensive tell me and I will add it as well as any tips.
