Hey guys, allot to cover, so lets start right in! This post will be about the Beta version 0.10.5 which claims to have the following for testing...
However, i'm not really seeing any new AI and the missile while research-able is not yet build-able to test fire. However! The new abilities have been added in this BETA, so lets learn a bit about them! As I have said in previous beta previews, this is a BETA so things can and will change from what you see here to what we get in the game. Powers, stats and who has what abilities I'm sure will be edited by the developers to help with balancing! We are guests, don't go scream on facebook about issues you might spot here!
The vast majority of crew now have abilities! its not just 5gem heroes! (most abilities become available after crew reach level 10) Crew will now display an icon to their top right during battles to show who has what powers! Abilities from what I've tested so far are 1 use per battle.
See all the new little icons? lets review the 8 abilities we saw given to different crews and what they do. Some abilities are stronger then others.. Crew now have a new stat call "ability" for example "Ponytail Alien" has the "First Aid" power.. but his ability power max's out at 1.. so he only heals 1 HP when its triggered (which wont help when you airlock him).. But other crew with the same power have higher ability max's.

Group Heal Ability (Including Self!)
Instant Repair Ability
Instant Room Damage Ability (Will damage rooms guarded by crew)
Attack boost (not sure of the duration yet)
Instant Group Damage Ability (not tested for friendly fire yet)
Instant Room Recharge Ability
Instant Room Discharge Ability (Will discharge room guarded by crew)
When you attack an enemy ship, your crew member will start to flash! this indicates your crew member is able to use his ability.. for example if you have healing rain and a damaged crew member enters the room, your healing rain powered crew member will start to flash. From what I've seen so far the crew will not auto trigger abilities when you are the attacker, you must manually tap on crew to start their ability. If this overrides their AI for the rest of the battle, or if AI commands will be added later to trigger abilities? I'm not sure yet lol. I think i saw a few defense AI's trigger their crews abilities, since there is no new AI command for it yet, it might be done automatically for the defender when appropriate.. all this is still from beta however, so stay tuned for other developments.

So i can research it, but i cant produce it in my missile room to fire (i click the left and right arrows and nothing happens)
Maybe the next beta release will allows us to fire them! tune in next time!
